Valentine's Hearts - lots of them!

Valentine's Day is approaching quickly, and cards need to be made for those that we love.  Our last Stamp Club card in January was this one.  It's quick and easy to make, making it perfect if you're one to give cards to family and friends.

The card was based on one created by Sue Noetzel, and it uses some more of the wonderful Twitterpated Designer Series Paper in the Occasions Mini catalogue, as well as the Take it to Heart stamp set and some Island Indigo ruffled ribbon (I LOVE this ribbon!). 

One more heart element was added - the Pink Pirouette paper behind the main image was embossed using the Big Shot and the new heart embossing folder that is part of the Adorning Accents folder package on page 7 of the Occasions Mini catalogue.  I did remind everyone to make sure that they glued this on right side up - no one wants their hearts to be upside down!

This month we will be using some of the new Edgelits dies that are featured in the Occasions Mini Catalogue.  Stamp Club dates are February 13th & 16th.  Let me know if you would like to join us!

A Mug of Coffee (or Tea!) For Your Day

Today I have another card that we created at Stamp Club in January.  This one is based on a card originally created by Mary Fish, and it features some of the gorgeous Twitterpated Designer Series Paper featured in the Occasions Mini Catalogue.

Now, the halogen light has changed the colour of the paper, but I assure you that the background is white, white, white.

A bit of Baja Breeze Seam Binding ribbon has been woven around the matted DSP, and the mug was stamped on some DSP and quickly cut out.  The mug stamp can be found in the Morning Cup stamp set (one of my favourites), and the sentiment is in the Sale-a-Bration stamp set Outlined Occasions.  Those big pearls?  Huge aren't they?  They're a great compliment to the pearls that we have in our Idea Book & Catalogue, and they can be found on page 26 of the Occasions Mini Catalogue.

Jolly Holly Christmas

Ah, now that Hallowe'en is over (although the pumpkins are not yet on the curb for the green men dudes to take away), it's time to turn our thoughts to Christmas.  I'm not a commercial kind of girl, because I record everything on the PVR and race through the commercials, but I'll be the holiday Canadian Tire ads have hit the airwaves.

I've been focused on holiday projects for some time now.  As of last night I had 960 of the 2200 cards finished.  The rest need to be finished by the 18th of November.  I'm living and breathing these things (as well as a few other classes/projects) for the next little bit.

The front of my china cabinet has held a growing pile of cards for some time now.  I haven't posted any Christmas Cards to this point as I didn't want the season to approach any faster than it already is.  However, now that we're steamrolling in that direction, the time to start posting them is now.  Heh.

We completed this card at Stamp Club in October.  The glossy cardstock was stamped using black Staz-on ink and an image from the Festive and Fun stamp set which was coloured in with a white crayon.  Ink was rolled over using a brayer, and the crayon wiped off.  Voila.  An uninked image that can be embellished however you see fit.  This is a great card to mass create, with a wonderful effect.

Thanksgiving Treats for the Fall Table

Sitting down to a beautifully decorated table at Thanksgiving is always a treat.  Place these small sour cream containers on your family's plates, and watch them try to guess what's inside.

These boxes are very easy to create, and look wonderful on a table when adorned with a small fall tag.

Now, I need to hide the container that's sitting beside me because I KNOW there are caramel Hershey's Kisses inside.

Fun & Flirty Bag in a Box

September marked the beginning of a new season of Stamp Clubs, and we decided to start with a bang.

Everything we created included treats!  Oh, and a warning that not every month would be like this.  However, we put together some pretty fun projects that can be used at different times of the year.  I posed the Hallowe'en bags last week, so today I'm posting the cute purse that could hold many different items.  It would be wonderful for small gifts or gift cards, but we added some candy to ours.  Just for fun of course.

Haunting Hallowe'en Faces at Scrapfest

Do you have your Scrapfest tickets yet?  Scrapfest is coming up fast, and we've got a great make & take project planned for our booth, as well as something fun for everyone that places an order for catalogue product during the festival. 

Check out these cute candy sleeves, complete with a Hallowe'en tag.  The Cellophane Bags are 1" x 8", and come 50 to a package.  The price is perfect - $3.25 for 50!  I sat down one night with a bag of candy, and filled a whole bunch of them in less than an hour.  Another hour for tags, and we're good to go.

Don't forget - Scrapfest is on October 14th & 15th at Durham College in Oshawa.  Saturday the 15th is general admission, and tickets can be purchased at the door, while Friday evening is for VIP members and croppers only.  Full details can be found HERE.

Bird in a Cage, Birds in a Cage, Bird in a Cage

Bird in a Cage (although I had originally typed Birds in a Cage).  It sounds a bit like a movie title, and it's infinitely better than Snakes on a Plane.  Don't you think?

It's late, and I'm tired after spending hours in the sun today, so I guess my humour is a tad warped.

This is one of the cards that sits in the what seems to be never-ending pile of cards beside my computer.  We created this one at our July stamp club, and it somehow ended up in the bottom of the pile, which is in no way a reflection of its design or quality.

I own Aviary as a clear mount set.  If you have a large block to mount the stamps on (I used an "E" size block), you can mount all three cages and stamp them all at once.  To accurately place the birds inside their cages, simply place all three stamps overtop of the cages, and then press the large block on top of them.  The birds will be adhered to your block, in the location that you like.  Ink the block, and stamp the birds in their cages.  Too easy!

A Butterfly in Blues

One of the prettiest sets in the Summer Mini Catalogue is the Strength and Hope set.  With $2 from each set sold being donated to breast cancer research, it has proven to be popular with my customers.  I recently gave a set to Tiffany Bond, of the Crop and Chat Club.  She hosted a scrapbooking for cancer fundraising event, and this was the perfect stamp set for a silent auction.  

We used this set back in July when we met for stamp club - rocking and rolling the butterfly to give it a darker edge.  I love the combination of Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy - perfect for this card.

If you don't yet have your Strength and Hope stamp set, make sure that you place your order for the set before August 31.  Once it's gone, I doubt that we will see it again.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries???

Two days left until the new 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalogue is revealed!  I've been drooling over it for three weeks, and I can hardly wait to share it with you on Friday. 

For today though, I have a "card" that features the strawberry from the Tart and Tangy stamp set.  Card is in quotes because it's not really a card per se, but rather a chocolate popsicle shaped card on a stick.  There have been many variations of this card splashed all over the internet, but I rather liked the thought of adding a bit of Crystal Effects to that section of the strawberry that had been coloured using Chocolate Chip ink.

Now, I did a lousy job inking my stamp to begin with, and then I did a lousy job with my Crystal Effects because I forgot to take out the big glob at the top that was kinda sorta dry.  So, my berry isn't perfect - just like Ontario strawberries (but oh, are these juicy!).  The ones that came after this were much better.  Did I take a picture of one of them?  Noooooooooooo...

Brithday Gifts from Party Hearty

Only three days left of the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue!  We used another of my favourite retiring stamp sets at stamp club last week - Party Hearty.  I will miss the cupcake stamp, but I'll really miss the small, circular gift stamp.  It fits the 3/4" circle punch perfectly, making this card a snap to make.

I cannot take credit for this card.  The original version was created by the super-awesome Mary Brown.  She truly comes up with the best card designs!
