Haunting Hallowe'en Faces at Scrapfest

Do you have your Scrapfest tickets yet?  Scrapfest is coming up fast, and we've got a great make & take project planned for our booth, as well as something fun for everyone that places an order for catalogue product during the festival. 

Check out these cute candy sleeves, complete with a Hallowe'en tag.  The Cellophane Bags are 1" x 8", and come 50 to a package.  The price is perfect - $3.25 for 50!  I sat down one night with a bag of candy, and filled a whole bunch of them in less than an hour.  Another hour for tags, and we're good to go.

Don't forget - Scrapfest is on October 14th & 15th at Durham College in Oshawa.  Saturday the 15th is general admission, and tickets can be purchased at the door, while Friday evening is for VIP members and croppers only.  Full details can be found HERE.

Postage Stamp Butterflies

I really like the look of this card.  Jennifer Tinline shared this one with us at our last demonstrator meeting.  There are lots of textures, with result being a very pleasing card overall.  Besides... who doesn't love butterflies?

 

The Basic Rhinestones add some sparkle to the card, and Sincere Salutations is one stamp set that should be on every stamper's shelf.  Its classic font, size, and sentiments ensure that it will remain current for years to come.

Scrapbook Sundays - That's a whole lot of apples

September is the first month of this edition of my Scrapbook Club, and the ladies all created their pages this past week.  For those that opted to include the embellishments in their pages, they received a paper apple that was hand cut by moi.  One of these apples appeared on the September cover of 'Stampin' Success', the demonstrator magazine that is published by Stampin' Up!

I created a bunch of these apples for our pages.  They were easy enough to make once I had the pattern put together, and creating them in an assembly line fashion helped with their quick creation.

There are two versions of this photograph - one in the natural light of my dining room, and one that is all flashed up.  I opted for the natural, which is the darker of the two, simply to give you more of a feel for the dimension of the fruit.

Emboss Resist card for 'My Friend'

I'm back this evening with another really easy card that has a nice impact on those that receive it.  We made this card at a demonstrator event back in August, and I was impressed with the 'easy factor' associated with it.

By simply stamping the main image using Versamark ink, embossing the image with clear embossing powder, and sponging the ink overtop, a very soft effect is created.  Very pretty, and very easy.

Kindness Matters Class Registration Closes Today!

Today is the last day to register for the 'Kindness Matters' class on September 26th and ensure that your stamps arrive on time for the class.

We will be creating the cards in the photograph above.  The class fee is $30 for Clear Mount stamps, and $35 for Wood Mount stamps.

Butterfly Bookmark Card

Back to the collection of cards that semi-permanently resides beside my computer.  It shrinks and grows, but it never seems to completely go away.

Today's card is one that has been hanging around for awhile.  It was based on a card created by Mary Brown, but I changed it up a little bit to suit the paper that I had in the house.  This card is fun because the scallop circle on the front can be removed and used as a bookmark (there are magnets inside the circle).

Bird in a Cage, Birds in a Cage, Bird in a Cage

Bird in a Cage (although I had originally typed Birds in a Cage).  It sounds a bit like a movie title, and it's infinitely better than Snakes on a Plane.  Don't you think?

It's late, and I'm tired after spending hours in the sun today, so I guess my humour is a tad warped.

This is one of the cards that sits in the what seems to be never-ending pile of cards beside my computer.  We created this one at our July stamp club, and it somehow ended up in the bottom of the pile, which is in no way a reflection of its design or quality.

I own Aviary as a clear mount set.  If you have a large block to mount the stamps on (I used an "E" size block), you can mount all three cages and stamp them all at once.  To accurately place the birds inside their cages, simply place all three stamps overtop of the cages, and then press the large block on top of them.  The birds will be adhered to your block, in the location that you like.  Ink the block, and stamp the birds in their cages.  Too easy!
