Create A Cupcake - Easy with the Cupcake Builder Punch

I love this Cupcake card created by Jennifer Werenich.  It has many different layers & textures, and it's easy to create  because the Cupcake Builder Punch does a lot of the work for you.

The Chocolate Chip 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon on this card is retired, but the ribbon size/design is still available so it would be easy enough to choose a different colour scheme for the card, using current ribbon.

One of my favourite stamp sets - Just Believe

I know that I've mentioned this before, but I LOVE the Just Believe stamp set.  With five floral images and four sentiments, it's a very pretty set that is perfect for stampers of all experience levels.

This card was designed by Kelly Bingham, and I love all of the elements on it.  It's also a great way to use your Big Shot to embellish your card.

A Striking Flower Fest

I'm still working through my collection of swap cards from June - I have a lot of them!  But... I'm still stamping, and I've got more than a few things on the back burner for later posts.

Happy Greetings using buttons & punched flowers

Isn't this card cute?  It is an easy, yet vibrant card that uses buttons in the centres of the flowers, and very little coloured cardstock to make an impact.  This is another one of Jennifer Tinline's cards that we created during our Leadership meeting.

The cute flowers were punched using the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch, and the buttons can be found on page 197 of the catalogue (these are from the Brights Collection).  Those of you that are looking for sentiment stamp sets should take a look at Happy Greetings in the Summer Mini Catalogue.  It has six nice sentiments, in a size that works on a lot of different card styles.

Quick Lattice Pouch - great for treats & trinkets

One of the cute little items that was given to each demonstrator during our Leadership meeting in June was this little pouch with embossing powder.  It was created using the Lattice die for the Big Shot, and some Designer Series Paper.

Jenn added a punched scallop circle to the bottom of the pouch, and set the powder on top.  The entire thing was tied together with ribbon, and the tag is from the Best of Everything stamp set - new to this year's catalogue.

Fabulous Embossing with Fabulous Florets

Okay friends...  I'm winging this tonight.  The card sample isn't in front of me, so I'm posting this based on the photograph.  Now, I *think* that the card is in the other room, but I have a glass of red wine in front of me, and I'm feeling lazy after an afternoon at the beach.  On that note, here goes...

Have I mentioned before that I wasn't fond of the Fabulous Florets stamp set when I first saw it?  Well, I wasn't.  The co-ordinating Designer Series Paper didn't catch my fancy either.  And then I saw all kinds of really nice samples using both (and they showed up in the big catalogue), and had to get it.  

Sincere Salutations is a stamp set that has been around since before I became a demonstrator.  It is a great go-to stamp set for salutations, as the script and size of the stamps are perfect for cards.  

Now, can you spot the embossing?  No?  Both flowers were heat embossed using Tangerine Tango embossing powder, and the stem & leaves were embossed with Wild Wasabi embossing powder.  These new powders are wonderful for adding a bit of texture and sheen to your images.  They'll be great in scrapbooks as well.

July Stamp Club - Next Monday & Thursday!

Just a quick note today (without pictures because they're all on my laptop, which is currently downloading the latest OS update, so I'm on my mother-in-law's laptop instead) to remind everyone that my July Stamp Clubs are next week.

Stamp Club in July & August is open to everyone - in September they will only be open to those that sign-up for the club. 

The class fee is $15, which is waived if you make a $25 purchase at the club.

We will be creating Stamp Club quality projects, and you will leave with a taste for the types of projects that we normally create at our club nights.

Club nights are Monday, July 25th or Thursday, July 28th at 7:30pm.  We meet at my house - please let me know if you need directions.

A Charming Card

Well, I would have liked to have posted this card last night, but I arrived at my mother-in-law's house to find that her internet wasn't working.  A call to the ISP didn't solve the problem, so we neededd to wait until they sent a technician out early this evening. 

No internet access for 36 hours.  It just about killed me.  No blog post for you! 

Now that everything is back to running, I have a card sample for this evening's post.  This one features images from the Charming stamp set, and was designed by demonstrator Miranda Ellis.

I love the combination of colours on this card - Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Marina Mist.  Very soft, yet it all flows.  A little bit of ribbon, and a couple of Basic Pearls finish it off nicely.

It's over 30ºC and we're making Christmas Cards

Tonight was my Christmas in July class.  It's really hot in Southern Ontario, and rather humid as well.  Today wasn't even the hottest day of the week!  They're anticipating a temperature of 37ºC on Thursday.  Yike!

Sitting inside the air conditioned dining room, we created Christmas Cards this evening.  One of the cards that we put together was this one.  It is a card that was designed by Colleen Weddell, and is a breeze to make.  The ladies really liked the simplicity of it, as it can be easily replicated for mass production.

Another selling point was that it features a stamp set that most of them already own (and the rest of them covet) called Delightful Decorations.  Colleen paired it with the holiday sentiment from Word Play, and added a bit of texture using the Big Shot and the Houndstooth Embossing Folder.
