I'm very excited to announce that I have opened my first Etsy store!  My first you ask?  I'll likely have two, but I'll get to that in a minute...

The first store is all about felt Build-a-Bear playmats, bears, clothing, and accessories.  A few items were added this afternoon, and I'll be adding more in the coming days and weeks.  How do you get there?  There are lots and lots of different ways!

Two Tag Teabag...

I couldn't think of anything else that began with the letter 'T'!  These teabag holders were created using a Big Shot and the Two Tags die.  Robin Merriman had these up on her blog a couple of months ago, and we fell in love with them.  Perfect for a party favour, or just a pick-me-up for a friend.

Kettle and sentiment are both from the Morning Cup stamp set (one that I have been coveting for so long that I accidentally bought it twice!), and we've done a little bit of watercolouring on the kettle using Aqua Painters and markers. 

Cute, cute, cute!

I've been running wild over the past few days, and am hoping to get some solid crafting time in this weekend - assuming that the weather is crappy.  Otherwise you may see photos of my garden next week.  Happy stamping!

A Shimmery Butterfly

I was trolling through my Twitter roll one day not that long ago, and came across a card that was rather shimmery in nature.  It seems that an enterprising Stampin' Up! demonstrator combined a Classic Stampin' Pad with some Frost White Shimmer Paint to create a rather shimmery image.

We decided to create something shimmery at this month's Stamp Club using the Strength and Hope stamp set, and rather liked a card that we found on Jennifer Tinline's blog a few days earlier.  Changing the colours & an accessory or two as well as adding the shimmer paint resulted in this card. 

Now, it's difficult to see the shimmer on the butterfly in this picture, but I can assure you that it's there and it's fabulous!

Father's Day Summer Mini Card

You're going to look at today's card and mutter to yourself... I've seen that card before.

Of course you have.  Our stamp club created this card last week using the Best Dad Ever stamp set, and it was CASE'd from the Summer Mini Catalogue.  You can find it on page 13 of the Summer Mini Catalogue.  We did change the card slightly, but otherwise it's pretty close to what Stampin' Up! artists created.

Why did we do this with our Stamp Club?  To show that it's okay to take something from our catalogues and recreate it, changing it slightly if need be.

Why not find a card that you love, and recreate it?  You could change the stamp set, colours, accessories, or paper and you would end up with a card that's all yours.  Creativity is all about taking an idea and making it your own :)

Scrapbook Sundays - Baja Breeze Birds

Good Morning!  I hope that everyone is enjoying their long Victoria Day weekend.  Mine has been relaxing so far - especially because the internet went down for several hours yesterday.  Although, as I type this, I am listening to my husband tell the kids to find something else to do that is less disruptive, and ultimately quieter.

Today's scrapbook page is something similar to a double layout that I posted last month.  Colleen's page has been put together using Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake ink and paper.  She has added some of the Baja Breeze 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon, a couple of Filigree brads, and Silver Glass Glitter.  The stamps themselves have come from the All Holidays and Elements of Style stamp sets. 

No scrapbooking for me today.  I think that lounging on the deck may be in order.  I'll get back to my crafty world tomorrow.

My new Digital Swatchbook arrived today!

As I mentioned last weekend, I'm a tad behind when it comes to scrapbooking.  Well, I'm really behind, but for the purposes of Mother's Day I was only a little behind.

The Swatchbooks that I created for my Mother's Day gifts using My Digital Studio arrived today.  They are the CUTEST things!  Each are 5-1/2" x 3-1/4", with plastic covers on the front and back and a rivet in the corner to secure the pages together.

Now, the photo isn't the best because the weather outside is rather crappy these days.  I just plunked it down on my kitchen table, brought out my Ott-light, and snapped a pic.  If I remember, I'll take it back outside when Mr. Sun shines on us again and take another one.

Tadpoles... did you know they turn into frogs?

A non-stamping post this evening.  Mainly because I'm too exhausted to actually compose a stamping post with pictures and stuff.  And I'm trying to write my rather tardy newsletter.  I'd like it to hit the newstands tomorrow, but that may not happen.  I really need 48 hours in a day right now.  It's all about my garden baby!

So, along the gardening theme... I'm taking my sandbox out this summer.  The kids have jumped on the lid repeatedly, and there is a nice crack in it.  You can't keep the water out of it.  Last year we had a frog living in it.  Which brings me to yesterday.  When I went to empty it and found it full of tadpoles. 

Seriously.

The two younger kids LOVED this.  If they had their way, we would have hundreds of frogs in our backyard this summer.  Alas, this is not to be.  We kept a big jug of tadpoles & scummy water, and with chants of "don't kill the tadpoles" in the background, I dumped the rest of the water.

Our little critters have gone to live in a grade one classroom in Oshawa.  Where they will swim happily in an aquarium, and turn into frogs, to be released into the wild in the summer.  The teacher that has taken possession of the brood has promised pictures.  In the meantime, here's a couple to give you a taste:
