I know that it seems early, but I'm going to begin planning my clubs and classes for the second half of 2010 and would like YOUR input!

What would YOU like to see?  Are there any specific projects or techniques that you would like to learn?

Would you like to take some of my classes but... are too far away?  Would you like to see online classes, or classes by mail?

Sale-a-Bration Good Neighbours Card - Basic & Slightly Upgraded

One of the cards that we created at this month's stamp club uses the Good Neighbours stamp set, one of the freebies that you can earn during Sale-a-Bration.  Well, actually two of the cards use it, but I showed one of them to you yesterday!  Anyhow, the card that we made at stamp club is quite basic.  This was deliberate, as I wanted everyone to try the stamps out, and practice lining them up on the paper.  I had two sets here - one wood mount, and one clear mount.  I wasn't sure which set would see more action, but in the end it was about even. 

After the class was over, I had to make extra cards for those that weren't able to make it to the club.  I had one set of supplies left, so I decided to add a bit more to the last card, just so that you can see how to quickly add a bit more zing.

The stamps are the same, and the paper is the same. I've simply changed the ribbon, ripped the paper, and sponged around the edges of the Whisper White and the Welcome Neighbour Designer Series Paper.  If I had taken more time (and changed a few things on the design), it would be just that much more upgraded.  But alas, no time

Good Neighbours Sale-a-Bration Thank-You Card

Good Evening Peeps!  It's Earth Hour, and I'm sitting in the dark with a candle flickering beside me.  Where's my husband?  Playing poker with his buddies.  I'm curious as to whether they are observing Earth Hour.  I'm thinking not.  Too many candles could result in the money going up in flames!!!

So, here I sit.  With a fully charged laptop.  At least it will keep me company :) 

I told you yesterday about my Mystery Hostess Virtual Workshop this weekend, and promised you a card sample that uses some of the products listed in the Sale-a-Bration catalogue.  This sample uses three!  We created this card at my March Stamp Club.  It was Good Neighbours Month!

It's a very bright card, with a lot of layers.  Can you guess what the Sale-a-Bration items are?  No?  The stamps are from the Good Neighbours set, the paper is from the Welcome Neighbour Designer Series Paper Pad, and we've also used the Scallop Trim Border Punch.

Cards for Cancer Fundraiser - only at our Stamp-a-Stack!

We've added something new to our Stamp-a-Stack this year.  We've added an extra card to raise funds for the Durham Region Cancer Centre at Lakeridge Oshawa.

For an extra $5, create two of these cards, with all proceeds going to the Durham Region Cancer Centre at Lakeridge Oshawa.  They are gorgeous cards, supporting a truly amazing cause.

The Stamp-a-Stack is taking place on April 24th at the Winchester Golf Club.  Spaces are filling up fast, and you've only got until Monday, March 29th to register and get all of the great stuff that we're offering!

Cost is $35, including all supplies, instructions, grab bag, and a stamp!  The only thing that you need to bring is adhesive.  Stamping time runs from 10am-4pm, so you can come out at any point during the day - just make sure that you leave time to actually stamp your cards!!!

It's so much easier to stamp when you're organized!

I've lost my stamping mojo.  I'm not sure if last week's beautiful early spring weather had something to do with it, but my creativity has been nil for the past couple of weeks.  So, what's a girl to do?  Organize!!!  I had posted some photos back in January of my newly organized space, and now I can show you even more because I went to one of the best (worst?) places in the world for organizing stuff... Ikea!

Back in January, I didn't have the big 2x4 cube on the right side of the picture.  The one on the left was there, but I needed more storage for my stamps.  I also wanted to even out the whole look of the display.

I also found the above rack at the Sandylion warehouse in Markham.  That place is AWESOME!!!!!  The rack was only $14.99.  It's not quite as sturdy as I would have liked, but it will certainly do the job.  I haven't loaded it up with paper simply because I have too much of it, and I don't want any of it to fade (there's 5 windows in this room!).  I'm reserving the top rack for class projects, and the remaining racks will be used to display paper & kits, as well as hold my work-in-progress pages for my own scrapbooks.

It's late, and I'm sleepy, so I'm going to sign off for tonight.  I will be back tomorrow with something else that's fun, and I'm hoping that my stamping mojo will like the sunshine that Environment Canada is promising for tomorrow.  Although, after seeing the snowflakes this afternoon I'm not holding my breath.

Create your own card boxes, with a Boxes Galore Kit!

I have never offered Kits for Sale before, but after my snowed-out Boxes Galore Class, I found that I have enough supplies leftover to create a small number of kits that are now available for purchase.  All of the cardstock and ribbon has been cut for these boxes, the punched pieces have been provided, and Sticky Strip has been added where appropriate.  Brads are also included.  You just need to stamp, and assemble!

The boxes that are in the kit are all shown below.  It's difficult to see but the Crushed Curry box with the flower on the front is an accordion box.  They're fun to make, and hold a lot of cards!

The cost per kit is $20, and includes the PDF instructions on how to create each box, including measurements.  Once you've made these boxes, you'll be able to use the instructions to create as many as you like!

Thoughts & Prayers Sympathy Cards... always good to have on hand.

Sympathy cards are difficult to make, especially on a spur of the moment basis.  We're incorporating one into our Stamp-A-Stack on April 24th so that you can have a couple of these in your card box, ready for when you need them.  Yesterday I showed you a very subdued card.  Today's is a bit brighter, and I've got two versions of it.  Once again, these are not my original creation... I CASE'd them from a card created by Gail Kelso.

The main difference between the cards (besides the little flowers that have been punched and glued onto the second) is the paper that I stamped the flowers onto.  The card above has Whisper White cardstock, and I just stamped the flowers onto the paper.  I used Confetti White cardstock on the card below, and sprayed water onto the stamp before I stamped down onto the paper. 

The stamps are from the Thoughts & Prayers set, and the flowers were punched using the Trio Flower punch.  I did add some dots to the centres using a Rich Razzleberry Marker.  Embossing was done using the Big Shot and the Petals a Plenty Embossing Folder.

I'm Baaaack! With something a tad more solemn (sympathy card), but it's green!

Bonjour all!  Sorry for my time away, but I kinda needed a creative break.  It just ended up being longer than I had intended!  I'd like to say that I'm back for good, but we'll have to see how it goes.  Without going into oodles of details, I've had a tough couple of weeks and I don't think that it's all behind me as of yet. 

Anyhow it's St. Patrick's Day, and there's lots of green in this card!

We're in the thick of choosing our Stamp-a-Stack cards for the big event in April.  The cards have been chosen, although we need to do a bit of tweaking with them just to make sure that they're top notch!  In the spirit of sharing, here's one card that didn't make the cut.  We talked about ways to fix it so that it would be perfect for what we wanted, but nothing really stood out so it got the axe.  Chop chop!

The main issue is the lack of colour.  The card is stamped in Old Olive and Close to Cocoa, but there's no real colour definition on the tree.  Easily fixed if it was a card that I was going to create for my own use, but not so easy to do at a Stamp-a-Stack where time and stamper experience levels have to be considered.

The stamps all come from the Thoughtful Prayers stamp set.  I'd love to say that I came up with this on my own... but I didn't.  I'm not sure who to give credit to though as I've seen it done by a couple of different demonstrators in a couple of different places!  It's closest though to a card created by Lyssa Zwolanek.

I'll be back tomorrow with another couple of cards that feature this set.  Really, I will!
