Hallowe'en is sneaking up rather quickly. My trick-or-treaters are going out as a Ninja, Strawberry Shortcake & Indiana Jones this year, and can hardly wait until Hallowe'en is upon us. I still have to finish putting together the Strawberry & Ninja costumes, and as of right now there are 10 pumpkins on the porch to carve. I say as of now because I'm going back to the pumpkin farm with my daughter and her kindergarten class on Thursday. 11 pumpkins! It's a lot, but down from last year's total of 13.
Tonight I have a quick lollipop holder that you can create for Hallowe'en treats. It's super quick to make, and kids love the funny face on the front with the treat inside. Since I don't have any kind of a camcorder, you'll have to make do with my photos :)
Gather up your paper, punches and adhesive. I was apparently in a bit of a hurry when I snapped these off yesterday afternoon because I'm missing the other two punches from the photo! Anyhow, I used the following supplies for this holder:
Pumpkin pie cardstock - 5-1/2" x 2-1/2", scored at 2-1/2"; Whisper White; Perfect Plum
Punches - Slit, 1-3/4" circle, 1-3/8" circle
Designer Series Paper - Cast a Spell (super-awesome spider paper!)
Stamps - Batty for You
Ink - Basic Black Classic Stampin' PadCut a 1" x 2-1/2" strip of DSP for the front flap. Stamp the spider image from Batty for You on Whisper White cardstock and punch out using the 1-3/8" circle punch. Using the 1-3/4" circle punch, punch a circle out of Perfect Plum cardstock. Glue the spider to it.
Once you've cut and scored the cardstock, fold it in half. Use your slit punch to add the notch that the upper part of the holder will fit into. If you push it all the way into the paper the slit will be too high on the holder. Try to punch the slit so that the edge is even with the top flap (see below).
I had this image from Sweet Centres on the table and decided to stick it to the inside of the holder. You can use any image you want, or simply write a quick message. The lollipop then goes through the slit, and sits inside. You're done! See? Wasn't that easy???
My Mom & Me stamping class this weekend are making a different style of Lollipop holder. I'll post the photos once the class is finished (don't want to spoil the surprise for those coming on Sunday!). In the meantime, I'd love to see your Lollipop holders. Make something quick, send me a photo, and maybe you'll see yours posted here next week!
Happy stamping!!!
