My Build-a-Bear Papercrafts Store is Open!

It's been a busy few days, and it doesn't look like it's going to settle down anytime soon.  I've been working on all kinds of different things - my first 12 Weeks of Christmas project went out this morning, working with my local Build-a-Bear store, my October newsletter, and my Build-a-Bear Papercrafts Store!

As of today, you can purchase Build-a-Bear party invitations from my "store".  There are four different styles to choose from, and I will be changing these from time to time.  I also have my Build-a-Bear backpack tags in the store, complete with a new, lower price!  As soon as time allows, I will post some embellished birthday cards, gift bags, and a very cute Build-a-Bear felt mat!  So, keep your eye on the store for lots of fun and interesting items!

As an aside, I also do custom card orders.  If you would like an individual card designed for a particular occasion, or if you need a bunch of cards of the same design, drop me a quick e-mail and we can easily put something together for you that is affordable, but with great design elements.  I can do any size of order, up to 2000 cards.

A Clearance Rack? Where??? Here!!!

A Delightful Christmas Card

I have already posted photos of our other two stamp club projects for September, and am now sharing the last of our cards.  The spotlight this month was on products from the Holiday Mini Catalogue, and this card uses the Delightful Decorations stamp set as well as the "Merry Christmas" stamp from the Season of Joy set. 

As soon as I saw this set in the catalogue, I knew that I just "had" to have it.  The Ornament Punch co-ordinates with the set, and there are sooo many things that you can create.  Tags, embellishments and Card Candy are all a snap with this set and punch. 

This card is based on a card that I saw at our recent Stampin' Up! team meeting.  It was part of a card contest that we had amongst the members of the group, but I didn't turn it over to see who the demonstrator was that created the card.  If you're that demonstrator, please e-mail me so that I can give you credit for a great card!!! 

I still have openings in my Stamp Club.  The minimum commitment each month is $20 in product from the catalogue, and there is no class fee!  Hostess benefits rotate between each member.  It is an outstanding way to gradually build your collection of ink, paper & stamps.  In addition, I'm always bringing out fun, new things at stamp club, so it's an excellent opportunity to "try before you buy".

A spot of tea for a friend

One of the Make and Take projects completed at our last Stampin' Up! team meeting was this cute little box.  It was created using the Stampin' Up! Bitty Box & Envelope die for the Big Shot. 

The lid of the box features a stamp from the Hello Again set that has been coloured using our Stampin' Write markers, and punched. 

A button from the Button Latte Designer Collection has been added to the lid.  This is the same button that we saw on yesterday's project.

A bit of cardstock and Designer Series Paper finishes off the lid. 

When opened, you find a small card that has a pre-printed verse, and a teabag!  Perfect for someone that relishes their afternoon tea with a friend or family member.

A gorgeous purple daisy!

Yesterday I posted a nice box of cards that had been embellished using the Daisies #2 die, and a Big Shot.  Today I have another project that can be easily created using the same die.

Another talented demonstrator, Colleen Weddell, created this really cute flower using the Daisies #2 die, and the Stampin' Up! Little Leaves die for the Big Shot.

Each layer of flower has been doubled, and she has added one of the buttons from the Button Latte pack of Designer Buttons to the centre of the flower.  A great addition that nicely finishes the daisy. 

A painted stem, leaves, sisal, and a cute bucket complete the look.

Tomorrow I'll be showcasing one of the make and take projects that we completed at our meeting.  It's something that would be perfect to give to someone in lieu of a card!

A Pocketful of Daisies? Well, it's more like a Box.

At our recent Stampin' Up! meeting, I took part in a 3-D WOW swap.  This type of swap requires more work than a regular card swap, because everything has a WOW factor to it, but you receive some really amazing projects back.  I will show you my project soon, but I thought that I'd show you some of the other items that I received. 

First up is a really pretty box of cards that was created by Pam Struwing.  She used her Big Shot to die-cut some daisies using the Daisy #2 die, , and then created the box from scratch using a package of Flock Together Designer Series Paper (DSP).

The top view of the box shows the detail of the flowers, complete with Jumbo Brads for the flower centres.

The side of the box hows the actual structure of the box.  Pam has used DSP on the box, but she's also used the cardboard that comes in a pack of DSP to give her box some stability.  What a great way to recycle the cardboard! 

The cards inside the box are of the same design as the top of the box.  Perfect for any occasion! 

Tomorrow I will post another item that I received that uses the same Big Shot die.  I always love it when I find more than one card or project that I can use with a die or stamp set.  More inspiration, ultimately leading to more projects that I create using the item!

It's September 23rd, and Christmas is only three months away!  That seems like an eternity, but for us crafty people, it's really not all that far off!!!

World Cardmaking Day is coming up - Come on over to my Card Buffet!

World Cardmaking Day is on Saturday, October 3rd.  What better way to celebrate than to make some cards!!! 

I will be hosting my first ever Card Buffet that day.  You may be asking what a Card Buffet is... well, my version of a Card Buffet is this:

Drop in to my house (2 Tavistock Avenue, Brooklin ON) anytime between 11am and 5pm, and create as many cards as you want!  Cost is $1.50/card, or 4 for $5.00 - envelopes are included.  You can't buy cards of this quality for this price!

What's in the photo above?  Card fronts!!!  I will have a big basket of all of them on my table.  You can troll through the basket, find the fronts that you like, and then stick them to cardstock to create full-size cards. 

If we need to change a few sentiments, I'll have my full arsenal of sentiments, punches, and cardstock bits to do just that.  I will also have a few "create from scratch" cards there.  These will be leftover card pieces from last year's workshop cards.  They just need to be stamped and put together.

This is an outstanding opportunity to quickly create a bunch of cards that you can have handy for those occasions when you need a card in a hurry.

Shake those old and rusty bones! A Stamp Club sneak peek!

A friend recently found some really great candy at the local 'Rama - bones in cool Hallowe'en colours!  She thought that they would look terrific inside some of Stampin' Up!'s Sweet Treat Cups, currently featured in our Holiday Mini Catalogue.

I decided to use these two items at this month's stamp club, along with some Hallowe'en paper, and stamps from the Sweet Centres set.  Here's what we made!

Inspiration for this card came from a Patty Bennett, a demo in the U.S.  Her card is similar, but there's no bones :)

Come and Build your own Bear!

The dates are coming up fast for my September Build-a-Bear classes.  There's one for kids, and one for moms. 

Kids (with their moms) are getting together on Sunday, September 27th from 2-4pm to create some bears.  They will be stamping two cards using the Build-a-Bear line of stamps in the Holiday Mini Catalogue.  In addition, they will also create a customized picture frame using the Build-a-Bear dies for the Big Shot.  Each child will be able to choose the clothing that their will wear in the frame.  Please bring a photo of your child to the class, to be inserted in the frame.  Class fee is $10/child.

Moms are getting together on Monday, September 28th from 7:30-9:30pm.  We will be creating two very cute cards that can be stored away for future birthday parties.  The photo above is a sneak peek of one of the projects - when you open it up, there are crayons inside that can be used to colour the bears!  The Big Shot will be used with the Build-a-Bear dies to create a very special set of Hallowe'en bears.   Perfect for scrapbook pages!  Class fee is $20, which will be waived if you purchase $45 in product from the Holiday Mini Catalogue.
