Love Bandit - Quick and Cute

Love Bandit is one of the super-cute stamp sets that is currently available in the Occasions Mini Catalogue.  This easy to create card was created by Andrea Head, and features three little hearts punched with the new Small Heart Punch that can also be found in the Occasions Mini catalogue.

I'm going to post another card tomorrow that also features the stamps from Love Bandit. It is more complex in nature, but it's always good to see how you can take your projects up a notch by adding a few additional details. 

I'm still recovering from the big party on the weekend.  We had 80 people here, but the house wasn't a complete disaster when it was all over.  Just a bit of cake ground into the carpet :)  Tomorrow will also see my return to the petri dish (aka my daughter's kindergarten class).  We'll see what I bring home this time...

Something Sweet to Eat... Gumballs!

Cheers to you!  It's a big day in our household, so I've got a fun card to show you!  This sample comes to you courtesy of another demonstrator, Raquel Garcia.  I received this card from her back in January, and I just LOVE it!

Raquel used the Something Sweet stamp set to create this very cute gumball machine.  The Whisper White cardstock has been lifted off of the Pretty in Pink cardstock using Stampin' Dimensionals.  She was then able to layer the gumballs to give it a 3-D effect.  You could add a Sweet Treat Cup to the image to add real gumballs!!!

The card base is Melon Mambo cardstock, with a layer of Basic Black and Pretty in Pink.  Ribbon is the Melon Mambo polka dot grosgrain, and Basic Black ink was used for the stamping.  Fun!

Enjoy this February 7th!  I'll share today's stories tomorrow... because there are ALWAYS good stories after a SuperBowl party at our house.

Sending Love to Someone Special

Tonight's post is short, and tomorrow's won't be any longer.  It's SuperBowl Sunday, and my house will be full of people!  It's also my son's 10th birthday, so I've spent today getting alternately ready for tomorrow, and celebrating with family.

So, a quick card tonight.  We created this card at our last demonstrator meeting, and it's super easy to make! 

Add some Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper to Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink and Real Red cardstock is a fast and effective way to create a card.  The border was punched with the Scallop Trim punch, and the sentiment is from the Sale-a-Bration set Whimsical Words.  A Sending Love Epoxy Brad completes the look.

Stamp and Create gorgeous boxes for your cards from scratch!

Raise your hand if you have made oodles and oodles of cards... far more than you could possibly give away in a lifetime.  I thought so.  I have a box myself that has lots, and lots of finished cards in it.  Have you ever thought about giving them away as gifts?  May people appreciate handmade gifts, and this is a gift that everyone can use.

This month's class is all about packaging for cards.  We'll be making 4 different types of boxes that you can use to package your cards and envelopes to give to people.  Here's a quick peek at one of the boxes that we'll be making.

Class fee:  $20, including all templates and instructions that will be provided to you in an e-mail at the end of the class.

Still Wishing for Butterflies with Beautiful Wings

Yesterday I showed you a card that featured the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.  Today I'm showing you another.  This card was created by Ruth Baker, and I love the way that they look like they are taking flight.

Ruth combined Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, and So Saffron cardstock to create a very cheerful card that would be perfect for any occasion.  The stamped vines are from the Vintage Vogue stamp set, and have been stamped using Old Olive Classic ink.  The bottom was punched using the Scallop Trim Border Punch (Sale-a-Bration) and some of the gorgeous NEW Old Olive Satin ribbon has been added to the bottom.

Wishing for Beautiful Butterflies

January is not exactly butterfly season in Southern Ontario.  It's pretty chilly out there, although there is very little snow for this time of year.  However, we can wish and dream.  This card was created by a fellow demonstrator, but unfortunately I don't know their name.  I received this card in a swap, and the name was missing from the back.  If it's your card, let me know and I'll add it to this post!

Tonight's card features some of our favourite winged friends, in a rather unique colour combination.  Soft Suede forms the base of the card, and there is some Crushed Curry cardstock with Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper.  A piece of Polka Dot Crushed Curry grosgrain ribbon has been added for dimension.  The sentiment comes from the Sale-a-Bration Whimsical Words set. 

Punches used on this card were the Scalloped Oval from the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalogue, and the Scallop Trim Border punch from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue.

The butterflies were created using the Big Shot and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.  This die cuts and embosses all five butterflies at the same time!!!  What a time saver!

Striking Vintage Vogue Card with Well Scripted Sentiment

Uber-fast post tonight.  I am heading out to my monthly book club gathering in 10 minutes, and just realized that I hadn't posted anything this weekend!

This card was created by fellow demonstrator Eileen McAulliffe, and she used the always popular Pretty in Pink and Basic Black combination.

This is a very quick card to create, featuring the Vintage Vogue & Well Scripted stamp sets, with minimal fuss from the Pretty in Pink striped grosgrain ribbon.  I love it!

I'm off to pick book club books for the next 6 months, and read!

Dry Embossing with the Big Shot and some ink

Today's card is the second one completed at this month's Stamp Club.  It is a really easy card to create, but it's got a bit of a WOW factor to it because people can't figure out how to create the embossed piece on the front.  Even my husband thought it was cool!  I CASE'd the card from one created by Dawn Olchefske, and I really like the way that it turned out.  I'm going to make some more, using different colours of paper - just for fun.

This card uses only two colours of paper (Rich Razzleberry & Whisper White) and one colour of ink (Rich Razzleberry).  The sentiment comes from the Enjoy Every Moment stamp set, and it fits perfectly within the Modern Label punch.  

The Rich Razzleberry piece that sits on top of the scalloped square was embossed using the Backgrounds 1 Texturz plates and the Big Shot.

Embossing on this card?  Definitely the polka dots. They were created using Rich Razzleberry ink, and the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder (Big Shot).
